At the Grand Pré National Historic Site, a stone throw away, stands the church as a memorial to the Acadians who were exiled from their homes and farms in 1755. The site also features a statue of Evangeline, the Acadian heroine whose spirit inspired Henry Wordsworth Longfellow's famous poem.

From Yarmouth/Digby travel on Highway 101 east, take Exit 10,
turn left at exit. Travel approximately 1 km on Highway #1 heading west and
look for the winery on a hill to your right. Domaine de Grand Pré is located
at 11611 Highway #1, just past the road to the Grand Pré National Historic
Site. COMING FROM Travelling from New Brunswick and the Amherst area, follow Highway 104 (Trans-Canada Highway) east to Truro. Travelling from Cape Breton, Antigonish, or New Glasgow, follow Highway 104 (Trans-Canada Highway) west to Truro. From Truro, travel south on Highway 102 and take exit 9. Continue east on Highway 14 toward Rawdon and Windsor. From Windsor, follow Highway 101 west and take exit 10. Turn right onto Highway 1 and look for the winery on a hill to the right. Domaine de Grand Pré is located at 11611 Highway 1 just past the turnoff for the Grand Pré National Historic Site. |
